INTRODUCTION TO YOGA NIDRA
The Yoga of conscious deep sleep
Yoga Nidra, a uniquely structured guided yogic meditation, leads participants into a rich state of calm where the body, mind and spirit are given opportunities to rest, regenerate and heal.
Nothing is required in Yoga Nidra except an open mind and heart, a willingness to set an intention, and the ability to stay awake and lie still. And maybe some warm socks! In other words, you lie on your mat for an hour, close your eyes, and simply listen to my voice. For real.
This practice is perfect for (but not exclusive to) those who: suffer chronic pain; feel overwhelmed and stressed in their lives; struggle with anxiety/depression, or; desperately need to rest.
You will need:
- Warm, comfy clothes; the body can become quite cool when deeply relaxed.
- A yoga mat
- An eye mask or eye pillow to block out light, if you choose.
- A blanket
